Subscriberi am doing a simulation for the hip replacement. i need fine element mesh at interface of the two bodies and i have done that. but i am thinking that this error is because of to small element or what. and what the value of the 0.1 in the maximum energy error symbolizes. is it 0.1 percentage or what.

Ansys Employee,nAny reason why you are using explicit dynamics and not transient structural?? Explicit is generally used for cases where the phenomenon is happening really fast, Iike bullet impacts etc. You may want to duplicate this and run it as a transient structural (you will have to do a few changes though). Regarding the energy error please check this detailed post 1) /forum/discussion/3363/turning-simulation#comment-4141f19e-9a0d-44f8-9824-a98b01036366 2) /forum/discussion/4519/explicit-dynamics and 3) https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v192/exd_ag/exd_ag_impexp_solninfo.html?q=energy%20error.nnRegards,nIshan.nMarch 26, 2021 at 6:45 amakashkalwaar
Subscribermy velocity is around 40 micrometer per secondni have to simulate the impaction of hammer on the prosthetic head for hip replacement so is transient analysis helpful for thatnnMarch 26, 2021 at 6:55 amakashkalwaar
Subscriberwhat is the value 0.1 that indicates the maximum energy error 0.1 i am not clear about that value. when i am changing the value of the maximum energy error value to some higher value like 10 the solution is proceeding but when i see the energy conservation graph i feel its going on wrong pace. so what does it signifiesnViewing 3 reply threads- The topic ‘i am having the problem showing the energy error to large’ is closed to new replies.
