I could not get my simulation running. Either Chatgpt or youtube could not help me with this.

Any idea how to solve it?

      Thanks!Ship hull

Assuming this is Mechanical as opposed to AQWA please repost in https://innovationspace.ansys.com/forum/forums/forum/discuss-simulation/structures/  For AQWA, post in https://innovationspace.ansys.com/forum/forums/forum/discuss-simulation/fluids/

        Hi Rob,

I thought because I used mechanical for my hydrostatic analysis I posted here. AQWA will be the next step for the project.

I managed to solve my problem now. I posted as an answer to Ashish.

        Thanks!

Good to hear. I check threads from the system back end and it looked like it was posted somewhere odd: didn't want you waiting in the event it was missed. May have been a glitch our side, or I need to find my reading glasses....

      Hello,

You might encounter this error message when the model is not constrained sufficiently or if there is a gap between the parts. Please check the model. In addition, refer to the link below:

        Hello Ashish,

thank you for your reply! I managed so solve my issue minutes ago. It was not the model itself the issue. I used Rhino 7 for modelling and I have already considered this problem while modelling. So it was not it.

In case it helps someone in the future the issues were: 1) not all material properties were put in, 2) contacts in connections were not generated properly

I used a material which was not available in Ansys and decided to leave out the properties, which were not easy to find or important in my opinion. I used structural steel as an orientation to know what properties are need as a baseline. After searching online I gathered all the information from manufacturers, I put those in.

I deleted all automatic generated contacts and switched in autodectection from face/face to face/edge and checked all the connections on errors. There was 1.

After that the simulation runs smoothly without errors.

Thank you everyone for the messages.
