I'd like to go from Ansys 2022R1 to Ansys 2022R2. Do I need to uninstall 2022R1? I don't want to run both versions. I only want to run 2022R2. What's the upgrade process?

I just install the later version, it’s a new download & install rather than being an upgrade. No need to uninstall the older one, I currently have about 6-7 versions of Fluent…. Â
If it's Student install or uninstall to suit. For the full version I'd install the new version including licence manager then remove some of the older version. Note, if you have Student and are installing the full version of the software you MUST uninstall Student first as the licence managers don't play well together. My Team Leader is still complaining about that after about 3-4 years!Â

I have the full version of 2022R1 currently installed. It sounds like there is no upgrade path and to run ANSYS 2022R2 I either need to install it as a separate installation or attempt to uninstall it. Thanks, I wasn't sure how this worked.

You're welcome. It's a full install every time. The only time we (staff) ever do an uninstall first is when replacing a beta version with a newer build or the release software. We change too many bits of the software for an incremental update.Â
