SubscriberBefore using mesh adaptation, you need to save an instance of the mesh you started with as it is not possible to undo mesh adaptation once it has been performed.n -

SubscriberAh phew. So in summary you can get rid of bad optimizations by either re-meshing or changing the geometry.nnI guess I can force a remesh by making a minor change, say decrease your mesh size, in the mesh and then changing that setting back to the original setting.n -

Forum ModeratorArray ArraynYou can coarsen a mesh which will undo normal adaption, this will return you to the original (or previous state). Anisotropic adaption however is permanent. n -

Subscriberwait does coarsening a mesh undo the refinement? So if I coarsen and refine by the same setting, I am basicallly resetting the mesh back to the original?n -

Forum ModeratorMore or less, because of the way refinement can leak slightly into adjacent cells you may find a few extra cells than in the original mesh but it'll be near enough what you started with. nIt's for a hex mesh, but here's dynamic adaption illustrated Working on 16/9/2020n
