Hello everyone, how can I stop autmatic merging when I sketch on another solid? I would like to have them as two parts. But SpaceClaim automatically merges them to one part. Of course, I can split them or build them seperately but if there is a faster way that would be great to know.
Â
It works when I use components but does it also works without them?
Thanks in advance!

Before you create the new body, you could freeze the body - when you create the new body, they should then display as seperate parts.
Hope this helps!

Hello Kirstie, did you mean lock the body? Because it works with lock. Thanks a lot!

Hi
Â
In the Pull tool and under options select No Merge and when you pull the sketch it will not merge it.
If this does not work do ctrl +c and ctrl + v on the area created by the sketch done on the top of the first block, and that will generate a surface which one can then pull and with the above option it will create a separate block and not merge.
All the best
Erik

That is also a great way of doing what you need (right mouse button click on the main part and select Lock and then the second part will not be merged with the main part - did not know that thanks).
