SubscriberHi,
I'm using fluent mesh tool. It would be nice for my project if I can spilt a single domain into two parts and mesh them with different mesh methods. (Still the two parts are connected.) I wonder if there is a way I can do that?

Thanks

SubscriberIn SpaceClaim, you draw a line or curve on the face and that will split the face, or you can split the face with a plane. Similar methods apply in DesignModeler.

SubscriberSo how can I do the similar thing in 3D with DesignModeler?Â

SubscriberIn DM, it is called Face Split.

SubscriberThanks for your reply! In this way, I'm able to split a face into 2. But what I'm aiming is to apply different mesh to 2 parts of a 3D object. Here is the geometry. There is a single submerged square cylinder inside the channel. Ideally, I want to apply sweep meshing method to part 1 and part 2 separately. I wonder if it is possible with fluent meshing and DesignModeler.

SubscriberYes, you slice the body into two bodies with a plane, then pick the two bodies and Form New Part to make a single part again. Each body can have its own mesh setting, but the nodes will be shared at the interface.
