How to specify mass of solid particles in mixing tank simulation

      Dear All.

I am modeling mixing tank with dia = 1.2 m and height  = 1.9 m. Total volume is 2.15 cubic meter and total mass of water in the volume  = 2150 kg.
Now I need to add solid particles with size of 100 nano meters and mass = 0.47 kg.

I am using Eulerian granular multiphase model Any idea how to add these solid particles in tank?

Have a look at the Patch function once you've initialised, or initialise a volume fraction directly using Standard.

With 100nm you may also want to review the use of species as the particles will pretty much always follow the flow.

      Hello Rob

      Thankyou for your response.

I know how to provide the volume fraction, but problem is that I have mass of solid particles. So is there any way to specify it directly or indirectly?

And about the species trasport, I will take a look on it.

Not without a source term, which won't be instant and may not be what you want. If you know the mass, and volume you're adding it to you can work out the volume fraction.
