Hello everyone!
I am trying to model the penteration of a dropped steel cone for a layer of sand rested on a concrete slab using Explicit dynamics. The thickness of both the concrete and sand layers is 0.5 meters. I simulated the cone material and concrete material with Structural Steel NL and Concrete NL but I cannot find the non linear model of sand.
Additionally, I am uncertain about the ideal size for the prism of sand and concrete, considering that the cone's diameter can reach up to 60 cm. I also need to determine the optimal end time for this problem.
Regards

Are you using LS-DYNA or Autodyn? We can advise on a suitable material model, but not on the further details about your model

Hi,
I am using Autodyn solver
