SubscriberHello, all!
I'm currently working on acoustic simulations of a centrifugal fan inside a casing. Currently, my strategy is to obtain acoustic sources (pressure fluctuations) in Fluent (via FW-H model) and then import this data to Harmonic Acoustics, where I could calculate the propagation of sound waves taking into account reflection and scattering on the casing walls. The problem is I haven't figured it out how to import the acoustic source data from Fluent to Harmonic Acoustics. I am not able to link the results of the former to the latter via Workbench. I also couldn't find how to import .asd or .cgns files directly in Harmonic Acoustics. Can someone help me?
I'm using ANSYS 2020 R2 (so I apparently don't need to download the Acoustics ACT). Also, I do have a valid licence for all these applications.
Thanks!

Ansys EmployeeHi
THis is currently not possible -we can only import them (pressure from Fluent) onto a structure not to an acoustic domain.
Thank you

thanks for replying. What I want to import into Harmonic Acoustics are the dipole acoustic sources generated by Fluent (obtained by calculations based on the pressure fluctuations), not the pressure itself. Is it possible?
Thank you!

Ansys EmployeeHi
that is not possible.
Thank you

SubscriberHi
I see. Then, the only way to do this analisis (sound generation in centrifugal fan + propagation in duct accounting for reflection and scattering) entirely within Ansys is to run a large scale turbulence model, compressible flow simulation?
Thx!

Ansys EmployeeHi
This question is appropriate for the fluids forum. Consider posting it there since this is a structural forum.
Thank you
Erik
