Hello, I want to get view factor matrix of annealing furnace,

but I cannot find the way to get view factor matrix in ANSYS tool.

I want to know what toolbox I have to use and how can I use that toolbox.

The S2S model in Fluent uses a view factor approach. This is also saved as a file so we only need to calculate it once (assuming nothing is moving!). Not sure how readable that file is outside of Fluent though.

I can find the way to print view factors on console on Fluent tool at the postprocessing tab->Model Specific->S2S Information.

However, that wasn't work good. I made an example of tow parallel cube, and tried to get view factor between two face-to-face surface.

The view factor I gotten was zero. I think that is not reasonable value. It seems to be a near to one.

      What's wrong in my example?

Check the two volumes are connected & there isn't a wall in the way: did you do share topology (SpaceClaim) or multibody part (DesignModeler)?

      Thanks for your answer,

In my example, the two volumes are not connected.

There are nothing between volumes, but I thought that the empty space is regarded automatically as air.(Is it right?)

However, it does not seem like that.

Then, how can I model in SpaceClaim to caculate View factors of separated faces? There will be nothing(just air) between faces.

No, if it's not meshed in Fluent it doesn't exist: you need to have mesh between the two (or more) faces. If you want to calculate the factors you need to include the geometry in a larger volume, mesh that & pass to Fluent.
