Hi everyone,
I am working with Ansys Mechanical to investigate transient behavior of a flexible structure. I got different deformations for example total or directional deformations from Transient structural. Is there any possibility oh having the deformation angle from the post processing. I have attached an image for reference.
Thanks

Hi, You can use a flexible rotation probe result for measuring the rotation. This result probe can output the rotation associated with a flexible or rigid body.
The probe is available for use in static and transient analysis. For solid bodies, since no rotational degrees of freedom is available, the probe output is zero values.
For this case, you can create a remote point at the point of interest and set the Loction Method of probe to remote points and select the created remote point.Â
Along an edge different nodes will have different rotation values so care should be taken while defining the remote point.

Thank you very much for your reply, offcourse I need that after deformation for a transient structure and when I try to define a remote point at deformed structure then it doest not work, it takes it always undeformed and shows deformation as zero after solving and by using the flexible rotaion probe it says ' the result data is not contained in the result file' . I am not sure if I have to define a rempte point before running the simulation ?

Yes, you must define the remote point before running the simulation.

Thank you but I tried that by selecting a face also and it gives me the same information about the result file, I guess I did not set all output controls on i.e. Nodal forces. I have run so far my simulations till 5sec, can I change the setting or define a remote point at 5sec and run it further? does this work?

You cannot create and use remote point in the middle of the analysis. You need to solve from the start again, once you have created the remote point.

To get the deformation angle in ANSYS Mechanical (Transient Structural), follow these steps:
Set Up Your Model:
- Define the geometry, material properties, and boundary conditions.
- Apply appropriate loads and time-dependent conditions for transient analysis.
Perform the Transient Structural Analysis:
- Set up a transient structural analysis to simulate the time-varying response of your structure.
- Run the simulation to capture displacement and deformation results over time.
