How to find piezoelectric material?

      Hello everyone,

I am new ANSYS student user, and using v.19 R2. I want to simulate the wave beam of piezoelectric material like PZT, PMN-PT and so on. However, I cannot find such material from the ansys data source, I already downloaded piezo and mems act.

I searching from the Internet, some video show to set the parameter in preference interface, the user interface of mine even not the same.

Could someone give me some suggestion?

      Hi Kevin1704,

Did you "load" the ACT from workbench page? After load it, you should be able to see the additional tool bars in Mechanical, or you can right click from the tree and insert the additional model settings. The piezoelectric material properties are defined in the "Piezoelectric body", which is from the ACT tool bar.

      Hi Liu,

Do you mean the piezoandmems extension? Do you have any screenshot for reference?

Thank you for your help first, I will try to find out the "piezoelectric body"

I installed the extension but still cannot see the "piezoelectric body"

I see, so you are using acoustic module. Unfortunately piezo ACT doesn't work with acoustic, it only works with structural. You have to use command object to define the piezo body. Alternatively, you can use an earlier version, in "structural harmonic", use both Acoustic and Piezo & MEMS ACTs. Note Acoustic ACT is not working with newer versions since now we have the native modules, that ACT is no longer maintained for newer version.

Thank you very much and I will try it again~

Hi HuiLiu nI am also working on simulation of piezoceramic on ansys using co simulation with matlab. But as shown in theory ansys use permitiivity at constant strain as input. But when i use this value I am not getting my simulated curve equal to experimental curve. nfor example as specified in datasheet of PIC181 i use epsilon_33 = 624. But anywhere near to this value my simulated curve doesnot match experimental curve. Can you please tell me the use of epsilon_33 and epsilon_11 because these are aso provided for constant stress. Which one i should use and how? n
