SubscriberI would like to export raw E-field data from a parametric scan in an electrostatics simulation in ANSYS Maxwell. Normally, I go to Field Overlays -> Fields Calculator -> Input -> Quantity -> E, then Output -> Export. However, this seems to only export the last value of the parametric scan. Can you tell me how to export the field values for all the variables tried in the parametric scan?

Forum ModeratorI don't use Maxwell, but if you make a previous Design Point "current" you can open the solver & export.

SubscriberDesign Point is a feature which is only available on ANSYS Workbench right? I'm currently using only ANSYS Electronics Desktop. Is there a way to do it with just that?

Forum ModeratorAh, in which case I don't know. I'll flag for assistance from someone who should.

Ansys EmployeeHello Gordon
Click on the 'Change Variable values' and choose the parametric sweep variation for which the fields needs to be exported. It could be scripted out to export for all parametric sweep variations at once. -

SubscriberHi dsurendr,
That is what I thought would do it, but for some reason, when I click that, nothing shows up in the list. Just to make sure I'm doing it right, here is how I did my parametric scan setup:
1. First setup the sweep to apply to variable "fpdist" for values 45, 50, 55 mm:
2. In the General Tab, include only the "Test" analysis configuration, and check the "Override" option for fpdist in the "Starting Point" table:
3. Go to Edit Variables and ensure that fpdist is included in the list of local variables in the "Optimization/Design of Experiments":
4. Then right click "ParametricSetup2" (which I just setup) and click Analyze. The program analyzes for a while and then is finished.
5. When I go to Field Overlays->Calculator->Change Variables I cannot find anything:
Maybe there's some part of the process above that I did wrong?

SubscriberHi dsurendr,
I don't know what I did wrong the last time, but after restarting my computer and repeating the setup of the parametric scan, it runs fine and I am also able to export the results of different configurations using the Change Variables option as you indicated. Thanks!

SubscriberOne important thing I discovered: you have to activate the "Save Fields and Mesh" option under Setup Sweep Analysis in order to be able to access the solutions after the parametric scan is finished.
