SubscriberI need to export the radiated electric field from a driven terminal HFSS design.
I want to set the voltage at the port in a way that the generated fields are equivalent to the field generated by a driven MODAL version of the SAME design excited with a 1W excitation.
How should i set the Voltage at the port for the driven terminal design? -

Ansys EmployeeHi there!Â
P=|V|^2/R. If the port impedance is 50 ohms, you need to excite the port with sqrt(50) volts to results in 1W incident power at the port. Note that accepted power by the antenna depends on the input impedance at the port and associated mismatch.Â
