How to do Mesh Copy in Ansys Mechanial

      Dear All,

When I perform a mesh copy in Ansys Mechanical, I get the below error.

Anchor faces for Mesh Copy may be ambiguous which may cause incorrect mesh transformation on the target bodies. Check the copied mesh on the problematic geometry.

I followed the following procedure to do mesh copy.

      1. I created meshing methods for each individual source bodies
      2. I created a mesh copy object with top most face in source bodies as source anchor face for mesh copy and the equivalent face(green rectangular face in picture) in target bodies as target face

Now if I try to generate mesh in the target bodies it keeps throwing the error. However, the mesh in the source bodies are perfectly fine. Please find the attached picture for the source bodies (9 solid body) and target bodies (9 target body)

It appears to be geometry specific issue. Can you share the geometry with volunteers here? I would request volunteers other than Ansys employee to pitch in and take a look at the model.nRegarding your second query, the mesh will not be connected at common nodes. User has to perform node merge if the nodes are coincident on the adjacent faces.n

Hi Kumbhar, Yes you are right. The problem was due to my geometry. Previously I had shared topology between the different bodies in the same part. Hence when I select anchor faces, Mechanical was not able to detect which body I am referring to, as the face is shared between two bodies. After I removed the shared topology, it is working fine.n
