SubscriberHello Everyone,Â
I work on a project in which I want to find the stress in Planet Gear Train. I keep the frictionless contact between teeth.Body-Ground Revolute joint in sun gear. Body-Body revolute joint between Planet Gear and Carrier. Body-Ground Fixed joint in Ring Gear. I applied Joint Load on Sun Gear in form of input torque. Joint rotation in Planet Carrier 0 to 37degree. Whenever i try to solve it say "Solver engine was not able to converge the solution".
I also see the previous discussion on this topic but it will give me same convergence problem. Please help to solve this.
Thank You

SubscriberThe connections between the parts seems correct. The configuration you describe has a fixed ring gear. You applied a torque to the revolute joint between the planet gear and the carrier. How is that achieved in reality since the planet gear circles around the sun gear? I can see either 1) applying a torque to the sun gear relative to ground and controlling rotation of the carrier axle relative to ground or 2) applying a torque to the carrier axle and controlling the rotation of the sun gear.
Under Analysis Settings, did you turn on Large Deflection?

SubscriberHi Peter
My input is Sun Gear and my Output is Planet Carrier, so, I applied joint moment in Sun Gear and joint rotation in Planet Carrier.
In Frictionless Setting I set Formulation - Augmented Lagrange; Update Stiffness - Each Iteration; Interferance Treatment - Adjust to touch.
Yes, I turned Large Deflection ON. Please Help me.
If possible will you please check what I have done wrong? My ansys file link
