SubscriberHello,
We have the ANSYS Academic Lumerical Research suite which is active and running on the university supercomputer cluster. To develop structures I was using IDE for FDTD on my personal computer. So far I was using the trial version but the trial period has ended. I wanted to know how can I use the license on the local machine to activate the IDE?
With regards,
Anikeya Aditya

Ansys EmployeeOn your local machine running a supported operating system, configure Lumerical v2021 R1 to obtain the license from your license server as shown here.

SubscriberHi Lito The launcher is not able to connect to the license server installed on the cluster. Is it possible to use the .lic file from licensing portal to activate the license on IDE.

Ansys EmployeeSorry, the license file is locked to the license server's HOSTID it cannot be used on a different machine. Please coordinate with IT to allow access from your local computer to the license server on the ports used by the Ansys license manager.
