Hey guys, I've been working on making DLIM( Double Linear Inductor Motor) making it a part of propulsion system of my project. I've made 3D model of LIM with the necessary dimensions by referring to ETH Zurich Master LIM PDF. But I am not sure how to proceed next since LIM is a special kind of 3Ph Inductor Motor. Can anyone please guide me how shall I proceed next like how to add coils and windings? Somehow I cannot open my Ansys Maxwell file. But I am sharing the screenshot of my CAD model here.
please do help me out, I am still learning Ansys Maxwell 3D

Hello,
LIM is usually simulated in 2D, where coils are represented by square conductors. In 3D it is much harder to draw. You can draw them externally in CAD tool and then import them into Maxwell, or manually using the drawing operations to directly creat one. Just like regular 3D motor windings, they are closed loops, and you can create a cross section to assign the terminal for each one.

I've made 3D LIM Multiple times in Maxwell 3D and have done coil and current excitation too. But the force value is extremely wrong in our case. I don't know who to give parameters in a way that I get near to accurate Thrust Force value. You got any idea or know it?Â
