SubscriberHi
I know it is possible but am new with DIscovery Ultimate
for a fluid transient analysis,
i would like to be able to input a pressure on which the magnitude would be a function of time (for example at the beginning the pressure is maximum, at the end of the end time of analyse, the value goes down to Oà.
thanks for your help

Ansys EmployeeHi benalain
It is possible to write pressure as an expression of time in Discovery AIM but this is not possible with Discovery Live. I believe your problem is concerned with AIM.
You just have to start writing an expression under the pressure tab and as you write “Time”, program recognizes this as standard analysis time:
In the example below, I have written an expression such that pressure drops down to 0MPa at T = 100 seconds and stays at zero even if the analysis proceeds further. Please note the use of conditional statement and rectangular brackets are used to specify units in order to ensure dimensional accuracy.
I hope this helps.
Thanks & Regards,
Gaurav

SubscriberYou are right, it is for AIM
thanks, i will test this
is it possible to multiply the pressure by a function i would describe later? (we use to do this traditionnaly in FEA codes)...

I guess any function of time should not be a problem. I may provide more precise information if you can please elaborate on what kind of a function you are trying to have.

Subscriberi wrote as you suggested ; it seems to be OK ; indeed there is a value disaplyed corresponding at the initial time.
Is there any way to plot the function i defined?-
