We have an exciting announcement about badges coming in May 2025. Until then, we will temporarily stop issuing new badges for course completions and certifications. However, all completions will be recorded and fulfilled after May 2025.

HFSS parameter Study – run only selected sets

      Hello,

Sometimes, when I run a parameter study the model collapses and the permeter study  crashes.

Q1. is there a way to bypass the cases where the model crashes?

Q2. is there a way to run only some of the variable sets but not all the combinations?

      Thank you

Is it a specific combination of parameters that causes the crash? If so, when you set the values of those parameters to variables, do they display the model geometry, etc. without any problems? Also, does the Validation Check detect any problems?

Q2. is there a way to run only some of the variable sets but not all the combinations?

Why not use the Table tab in Parametric setup to remove unnecessary parameter combinations for analysis?

I was not aware of the option to delete the failing combinatins

      Thank you

Is there a way to bypass crashhing combinations in optimization too?

You can use the menu option [View > Animate] to test your model parameterization and find the limits where the model generates invalid geometry.

In the optimization tab of the design properties window (where the variables are defined), you can limit the min/max allowable value for optimization runs.

I am aware of that, but this does not help much. It's the combination of certain parameters values that can create the crush. The user can't predict that combination because it is generate by the optimization algoritm.
I think the ony way is to have an option which tells the optimizer algorithm to exclude the case from calculation if the validation of that specific combination creates an unsovable project design.
