HFSS, How to plot max(Average_SAR) vs a variable?

I have added a parametric sweep of a variable to Optimetrics. I want to see how the maximum Average SAR in the tissue changes vs that sweeped variable, possibly in a rectangular plot. how do I do that? Thank you so much.

      Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to the Ansys learning forum. Your patience is much appreciated.

It is possible to plot a quantity vs swept variable. In the report dialog window, for X-axis uncheck "Default" and select the swept variable from the list.

In addition, it is possible to setup calculation while setting the parametric setup which can show result as per your need.

      Best regards,

Thank you for your response. Actually my issue is the Y-axis. I was wondering how I can set Y-axis to be the maximum Average SAR in the tissue. I would truly appreciate your help with this matter.

Double click on the Y axis, this will open a dialog box with the plot properties. In the 'Y Scaling' tab, you can set the max scale of the Y axis.

Thank you for your response but I cannot set Y-axis to be average SAR, since I cannot find average SAR in an object to be among the variables to select for the Y-axis. I want to know how to select SAR or for example E-field magnitude for Y-axis. Thank you.

When making the plot, are you selecting ‘Fields Report’? – You will also need to first define a geometry (a line) which will become the X axis of the plot – this line is specified as the ‘geometry’ in the report settings.

You also need to first define an ObjectList of all the tissues/objects to include in the SAR averaging. – Define this first by selecting the objects and then select [Modeler > List > Create…]

Next, specify this newly created ObjectList in the Average SAR settings in [HFSS > Fields > SAR Settings… ]

The SAR Settings dialog is also where you can specify 1g or 10g AverageSAR

Be sure to set the voxel averaging size low at first… 5mm voxel size will run within minutes… 1mm voxel size may take hours…

You can increase the speed by increasing the N CPU cores used for field post-processing & SAR averaging computations in [Tools > Options > General Options > Desktop Performance]
