SubscriberI am receiving this error when I am pushing excitations from the circuit designer to the ports in HFSS. I have analyzed the circuit (including forced an analysis) and pushed the excitation, yet it still says that I may need to analyze the circuit. I get this error often and sometimes it works if I delete the linked component and add it again and/or force the analysis again, but it is not working this time. Is this a bug or is there something I am doing incorrectly in the circuit?Â

Thanks for the help!Â

Ansys EmployeeHas this file ever been recovered from a crash? Has the same circuit model been through several dozen simulations, revisions, and excitation pushes?
Â
Most likely there's some corruption in the '.aedb' data folder and I would suggest you copy your model into a new project container:Â
Â
1) Create a new project file and save it with a new name
2) Insert a new blank circuit file into this new project
3) In the old circuit model, select all the components in the circuit except for the linked HFSS model
4) Copy and paste into the new blank circuit file
5) Copy the whole HFSS model by right clicking on it's title in the project manager and selecting 'copy'
6) Right click on the title of the new project in the project manager and select 'paste' to copy the HFSS model from the old project file to the new one
7) Re-create the dynamic link in the new circuit, save the file, and try to solve & push the excitations back into HFSS
Â
If this still doesn't work, then I would repeat this again but with re-drawing the circuit from scratch instead of copying & pasting the circuit...

SubscriberHi Peter,Â
The file has never been recovered from a crash and the circuit had not been through several dozen simulations. This was the first time I was trying to push the excitations after tuning the circuit just a handful of times, not nearly as many times as I have done with previous circuit simulations in the past.Â
I tried following all of your steps and when I copy and paste the HFSS project into the new project the results do not carry over so I get errors that there is no simulation data available for the dynamically liked component.Â
Do you know if or how I can avoid corruption in the .aedb data folder?Â

Ansys EmployeeHi Julia,
You'll have to re-solve the HFSS model again once it's inside the new project file. - After re-solving, does the dynamic link work when trying to push the excitations?
