SubscriberHey guys, I'm a fina year mechanical engineering student and only I've been ANSYS for a while, I've got my projecy deadline so close due to unfortunate circumstances. I wanna know how to simulate a sand battery, where i want to simulate how the heat dissipates into the sand when its heated by a coil. and then the rate at which is expels out heat when it is idle.
I tried creating a model but stuck at the same, there's gonna be a stainless steel container which would be filled up with powdered quartz sand, then a coil inserted (probably water heater) and then mineral wool wrapped around the container to act as the insulator.

Forum ModeratorHave a look at the Thermal modelling options in Learning. From the above, the only fluid part would be the water heater, so maybe also review the topic in Structural (Mechanical) too?Â
