SubscriberHi,Â
I am simulating a pressure vessel made of a combination shell and solid parts. I am have issues with two contacts. The first contact that is giving me trouble is shown in the image below. The contact is between to edges of a shell part and the face of a shell part. I have tried several different pinball region radii, however, the contact still remains far open and inactive.Â
Â
The 2nd contact which I cannot seem to resolve is between the face of a solidpart and the face of a shell part. Once again I have tried several different radii sizes but have not been able to resolve the contact.
Â
Any help or advice with this would be greatly appreciated.
Â
Best,
Jacob

Ansys EmployeeHiÂ
For the first contact issue, you can try using edge-to-edge contact and see if this works or not. You can use the MPC too.Â
For the second question, it seems the face selected for the contact body is the upper face, it should be the bottom face of the plate.Â
Best Regards,
Sampat
