SubscriberHello everybody,nI need to build multiphase model of a pool to measure evaporation due to airflow above the water, humidity, temperature difference and partial pressure difference (No boiling involved). My goal is to study the effect of the waves generated by the airflow to the evaporation rate. Which model should I use and how can I set the mass transfer between phases? nHelp would be greatly appreciatedn -

AdministratorHello,nI would use the VOF model for this study (because of your interest in waves and their shape). It seems like you are attempting to capture the interface. If I understand your problem right, you will need three phases - water, water-vapor, and air (inert phase). The mass transfer would occur between water and water-vapor. You should be able to set-up the necessary mass transfer mechanism. In the case of VOF, you can either use the Lee evaporation-condensation model. Please see the following link from the theory guide.nI hope this helps.nKarthikn
