Heat generation due to Friction – Rotation BC Setup

      Hello,

I want to run a simulation, which shows the Heat Generation due to Friction in between the two discs.

As shown in the Picture, the grey plate is stationary (Fixed on the bottom side) & the Light blue disc should move in a circular motion(Shown by the red arrow) along the top surface of the grey plate.

I am running the Analysis in Coupled Field Transient, where I need to output the Temperature plot occuring on the surface of the grey disc due to friction.

I tried to add a remote displacement to the face/edge of the blue disc, but it seems to rotate about its own axis.

How should i proceed with setting up the boundary conditions that will replicate the setup?

      Thanks for your help!

      Hi,

Can you try chnging the origin of the coordinate for remote displacement to the center of the gray disc?

      Hi Ashish,
      Thanks for your reply.

Yes, in the initial solve, I used the Global co-ordinate system with origin (0,0,0) which is at the center of the grey disc.

      Please advise.

      Best,
      Kanishka
