SubscriberHello,
I am trying to simulate a room under extrem conditions. I want to use a HVAC system to heat a cabin of a ship in the arctic regions. The room has steel walls with isolation to keep the room warm. For that I created 3 geometries in Spaceclaim. The fluid inside the room (air) and two layers of walls (steel and isolation). I created an outlet and an inlet for the air.
In the set-up I used an mass-flow inlet and an pressure outlet. I turned on energy in a pressure based calculation. The Steel information is from the fluent database, for the isolation I changed the density and created a new material. The Steel received a Temperature of 225K (-48°C) and the air from the inlet is suppose to be 303K (30°C). I used diffrent mass-flow rates for the inlet but in post-cfd the result always shows a heat anomalie. The steel heats up to 2800K and I cant figure out why. It would be great if you could give me some advice how to fix this.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Ansys EmployeeHello,
Please check the mesh (orthogonal quality, growth rate, y+). How did you initialize the case? Please use realistic initial guess for the initialization.

SubscriberThanks for the quick response.
For the mesh I used the tetrahedron method. I also added prism layers.
The growth rate is 1.2 , the orthogonal quality is bad so I will try to fix that.
How do I check the y+?
I initialized the calculation with the hybrid initialization
