I was trying to do Harmonic analysis and to be spicific I wanted to give unbalanced mass on a hollow shaft. I used 'Rotating Force' option to introduce unbalanced mass on the shaft.

after selecing 'Rotating force' under analysis settings tab in harmonic analysis, we have to select axis and location. So for the unbalanced mass to be at the outer surface of the hollow shaft, I need the center of 'Rotating Force' to be at the center of the hollow shaft but I can only select outer or inner surface of hollow shaft as axis or location but not the center/middle of the hollow shaft.

Do let me know if someone can help me in this.

If you type rotating force in the Search for... field and click Go, you will find this.

Thanks for the link but my exact question is: I am unable to bring the location of 'Center' of rotating force at the center of Hollow Shaft. I am only able to do so when there some solid mass at the center of the hollow shaft or if the shaft is solid.

You can select any surface to apply the force to, have a Remote Point for the Hit Point Selection and type in the coordinates to locate the force on the hollow center as shown below.

Thanks a lot Sir. I tried using this. It worked. I am facing another problem which is: I placed rotating force at different locations on a shaft (Middle, ends, Between center and end). Deformation varies in all cases but stress remains the same (Value as well as location of max. stress). What could be the possible problem in this?
