Harmonic acoustic, change type solver

      Good afternoon everyone.

I am running a simulation in harmonic acoustic, when I run the solver, it tells me that I don't have enough ram memory, which is true, I have little memory.

The issue is that the forum has read that changed the solver iteratively, it can run more efficiently in terms of ram memory.

My question is how to change the solver so that it runs iteratively, instead of directly?

Check Details of analysis settings> Solver Controls> Solver type.

Iterative needs less RAM, but it needs a large hard drive space and is slower as compared to direct. But given your RAM is low, the solver should choose the iterative solver automatically, and if you are still getting the error which can signify lack of RAM or Hard drive space for the iterative solver.

I attached a screenshot. From the tab of my solver detail, which option should I change? I can't find the option of "Solver type"

      Hi,

You might need to use Commands (APDL) object to change the solver type. Please refer to the following link which talks about different solvers available for Full Harmonic Acoustic analysis:

In this link refer to the following section:

      10.1.2.1.2. Specifying the Analysis Solver

You will need to use the EQSLV command. Hope this helps.
