We have an issue turning off GPU use in an HFSS SBR+ simulation.

Our alternative HPC node is a Windows 10-based, multi-core environment.  I don't believe there are GPU cards in this node. Users run a third-party remote desktop application to access CAD software for simulation purposes. Users can also access this node through a browser configuration.

We have installed all modules of Ansys EDT 2022 R2 in this node. We have licence features for all the modules in EDT 22 R2.

Issue:

When we first ran a test example from your HFSS/RCS directory (e.g. TriHedral_RCS) an error was reported in the 22 R2 “Message Manager” window: Error Initializing Savant Solver!

We found that “Savant” was installed and started it. This program found no GPU present so turned off a GPU setting somewhere. Once we had initialised “Savant”, we could run a “TriHedral_RCS” simulation.

We tried the regular ways of setting GPU use to zero (from menu Tools| Options | HPC and Analysis; from menu Analysis Configuration | GPU set to zero). These did not allow a TriHedral_RCS simulation to start. Somehow it’s the “Savant” program making this change that allows the solver to run properly.

We have hunted through 2022 R2 manuals and menus in both “Savant” and “Ansys EDT”. We can’t find this particular setting mentioned explicitly. Would you be kind enough to tell us where it is stored?
