      Hello,

Could you recommend good tutorial how to use TUI in Fluent 2021R2?

      Issues for today :)

      • how delete commands from which were created by /solve/execute-commands/add-edit
      • the best way to set-up view without GUI
      • displaying both mesh and contours and vectors on the same image created via /display/contour pressure 0 1000

      :)

      Cheers,

      Ela

I wrote a document for the Learning Hub, and may re-write for our Solutions system at some point, but basically it's a case of building a model and either using the Search box (top right) or exploring.

For 3) use the new Scene system. Objects make what you're after significantly easier than in the older (pre-R19) builds.

      Dear Rob ,

Could you please write a link to the document you mentioned?

      Thank you,

      Ela

It's on the Ansys Learning Hub in the Fluids>Customisation Learning room under Content>Uploads.   Note, you need a subscription to access the ALH as it's not a free service.

Search for TUI from the "campus" level, it's the first hit.

      Found it. Thank you.

It is very simple case... like basic of basic. What about cases where I need to setup window, display some ruler..etc.. do you have more complicated case, please. Something with both mesh and contour, and pathlines. Difference between displaying objects or just displaying contours.

What is a maximal number of windows I learned that 16 windows is too much.

      You're welcome.

Re the other commands, I can't cover everything on here, it's too detailed for the open forum. All commands (to a certain level) are listed in the TUI manual.

Now, contours v objects. When you save "contour-1" it becomes an object, so you're already using them. Several mesh/contour/vector objects can then be combined into a Scene, which then creates a Scene object. You can display that scene object, and in 2022Rx these objects can also contain a camera angle.

Setting rulers, objects etc can be done via the TUI, but I recommend doing these via the GUI. I've done it all via the TUI, and 1500 lines of journal aren't for the inexperienced, or the experienced for that matter: they're a pain to debug.

Not sure what the maximum number of windows is, there may be a limit somewhere in the code but I've never hit it. However, if you display & save image, display & save image you only really need one display window.
