Hello All,
A complete newbie here who tried a simple simulation a day ago and am super impressed. I would like to learn more and pursue an area of research in bullet impact simulation.Â
I am still trying to figure out what it is I need exactly since there are so many different products and so there will be a steep learning curve, I am sure.Â
Any advice on learning resources or direction on what products I would really need woudl be helpful. I also have questions about whether or not Ansys supports research by opening up some of the limitations of the student version.
Cheers!

Hello,
I would say learning more about the explicit dynamics theory would be a good starting point for your application. You may consider the following (free) Ansys Innovation Course:

Thank you very much for the prompt response. I have some weekend learning to do!
I have seen a few video tutorials on YouTube regarding simulated bullet impacts which seem ok for starting, but I fear they are oversimplified. In some cases, they make comments regarding the accuracy of the simulation because of oversimplifications.
Does anyone know of others who are working in this area? Maybe some published studies? I can't imagine I am the first to pursue this?
