Ansys EmployeeHello David Fletcher , 1. In Workflow panel inside AIM, right click on Geometry cell and select "Edit Geometry"2. This will open the geometry in SpaceClaim within AIM 3. In SpaceClaim, right click on the solid and select "Suppress for Physics"
4. In SpaceClaim, go to Model tab menu and select "Close" to close SpaceClaim. 5. The updated model will now have only fluid body shown in AIMÂ interface.

SubscriberHi Naresh,
Thanks for this. I was aware I could do it in SpaceClaim but it seems an unnecessary additional step. I think a Configuration should be included after Geometry and before Mesh. This could automatically have the solid suppressed given it was not used in Live and give the user the option to reinstate it if their intent changed.Â
Thanks
David

Ansys EmployeeThere is no need to suppress the solid. Go to the fluids physics task and scope the region to the fluid flow volume only. The fluids solution will ignore the solid bodies. Doing it this way has some advantages: it allows you to visualize the flow AND the structure when reviewing results and to produce plots like below (to get the material effect on the solids, assign materials to them in the fluid physics tasks, so long as they are not scope in the physics region the fluid solve will still ignore them)
