SubscriberHello,
i tried to simulate different Design Points/making a parameter correlation in my workbench, but the geometry didn't change.
I parameterized my model trough the script-tool with spaceclaim. When i change the parameter manualy i got no issues with the model, and i dont get a error message when i use the update all design points button->just get the message that my "model" in the static structural calculation needs a userinput information. When i go into the static structural model everything got the green check-marker.

Forum ModeratorIf you can solve it manually, it can be due to temparory loss of license or other similar issues.
After update all, if there are any unsolved designpoints, right click on them set as current and update selected designpoint. Does that work?

SubscriberHello,
i can solve them manualy, also it worked for the Design Point i updated like you described.

Tanks for your help

Subscriberbut this is not a solution for my problem because i want to make a Parameter correlation, so it is not functional updating each Design Point manualy. Maybe it would help if you can specify your first comment about the loss of liecense..
Â
thanks in advance

Forum ModeratorI am sorry, but can you please explain why the solution will not work for you? You can always transfer the DP list from parameter correlations to the parameter set where you can try to update Automatically (You need not update each parameter manually), whichever fails, just update them manually as per my post above in the parameter set. Once you have updated all the design points in parameters set you can also export a csv which inturn can be used as input for the parameter correlation.

SubscriberThe Problem is that, just the current Design Point will be updated, so i have to simulate each Design Point manualy->for my Project this means i have to make Paramtercorrelations for 6 CAD-Files, wich will have more or less 600 Design Points. This would mean that i have to sit days just watching my Computer to run the Design Points
I think there is a possibilty to run them automatically, but this isn't working at the moment. For testing i made a realy simple CAD-Model; I had the same Problem with this one. I also runed my Project on my Computer at home and at my Computer in the University on booth machines i had the same issue.

Tanks for your help.

Forum ModeratorWhich CAD files are you using? Are you using student license? Student license does not support changing parameters to a CAD file and importing it in Workbench.Â
If you have these parameters in SpaceClaim and trying to change it automatically and it is not changing then, I will suggest the following (Because to debug exact reason, one will need to look into code and the model, which I am not allowed to do):
Create a very small test case, do the process that I suggested for a couple of DPs manually while recording the journal. (Workbench>File>Scripting>RecordJounal)
Once you have lines for a couple of design points, you should be able to expand it for all 600 DPs using a for loop, which in turn can be expanded to your original model. As you have already written a script in SpaceClaim this would be a similar exercise.
Finally, there is a drawback of this method, it does not provide you any feedback like the default method until it runs (successfully or unsuccessfully through entire script).
(You can insert some mechanism such as saving project, writing a file showing current progress, etc but I will leave you to explore that)

SubscriberHello Aniket,
Â
thanks for your hints. I used Spaceclaim to create my CAD-Models(Student license). I make the simulation at my university with a teaching license. I think i will try your idea(scripting the process) hopefully it will work
Â
Thank you very much for your help. Probably, if I have further questions to this method, I am going to ask here in this forum

SubscriberHello
Â
i was looking more into detail in this problem and i am possible to insert driving parameters in Spaceclaim then edit them trough parameter correlation. The Solution you considered above is not working for me, because it was not stable to update the current Design Point. So for me it would be helpful to get the Workbench Project to its normal functionality. Is there any posibility to get more support from Ansys directly?
Â
Thanks for your help in advance

SubscriberSolved this by checking on the material settings of the model. Set Material settings in the Static Structural Model.

SubscriberBut now I got a new Warning Message: (DP1) Parameter update failed. When I try to run several DesignPoints the Geometry isn't updated for each model. When I change the Paraemters in SpaceClaim this is not a Problem, also it is possible to change the parameters in the Parameters section of workbench trough SpaceClaim.
this connection between Workbench and SpaceClaim is working

Forum ModeratorHey sorry, it was marked as solved so I didn't see this earlier than thisÂ
Can you please open a new thread and paste the link here. there Paste a few snaps of how your parameters are defined in SpaceClaim.
As far as possible, use parameters based on a ruler, which is from a fixed point in the model, can be a coordinate system, plane etc.
Â
It is bit difficult from the looks of your model (also the language barrier, sorry about that!) but a way would be setting up a very simple case of this model while adding up parameters one after another.

You can also make use of details tab for creating measurement based dimension for planar dimensions/Â
