Gaps in self-made car jack

Hello all,

I have a problem with my model of Car jack for Engineering Thesis. I can't solve entire analysis beacuse of these gaps. Did anybody know how to solve this problem ?

Should I make corrections in Workbench or Spaceclaim?

Hi,
In this model, why are you using bonded contacts? You should insert appropriate Joint Connections at all the joints in the model.

Also, I can see that there is a penetration between two parts. This should be rectified in a 3D software.

Thank you very much for Your response Harshvardhan, what kind of 3D software you propose to rectified those two parts ( sidebase 1 and 2) ?

Speaking of which why should I use joints ? Since I want my model to be immovable during analysis. I want to set my car jack on definied height and then see how force of 2T works on my tool

Any 3D design software will do. Ansys also provides some CAD softwares, namely Design Modeler, Spaceclaim and Discovery.

Regarding the usage of joints, Bonded contact will can be equated to a welded joint. Since this is not the scenario in the real world, you should not use these. Using bonded contact will give incorrect results.
