Dear sir/ma'am,

I wish to validate results from research papers with ansys model of FRP wrapped RC beam in drop test. The ACP pre meshing requires a surface model to work on. How can I define just the surface if I have to wrap the sheets on the beam? Upon meshing the beam, an error prompt says 'could not find meshing input'. How shall I proceed?

Are you modeling the beam as a solid? You can use the surfaces from the beam. If not, can you post an imae showing the model and provide more details about the model

Hello,

I have shifted to the Explicit dynamics module and I modelled the PEN material wrapping as a solid with thickness. The problem is I am not getting required deflection, 69 mm. Attaching all the details. Can you please tell me which step I am doing wrong? I have modelled the wrapping as simple FRP sheet over the beam instead of patches of 12.5mm, assuming it won't make extraordinary difference.
