Force time history

      Hi All,

I want to monitor force time histories on the walls of the model in my simulation and extract at the end of the simulation.

Force is not available in surface report definition to apply "area weighted average" like the case of pressure.

Please how do i go about that?

      Thanks

      Hello,

Under Reports > Forces, define the force on a wall and save as output parameter. You can then use the execute command to write out the output parameter at the required frequency.

      Hi Rahul,

      Thanks for response

Please i am not clear on what to input in the command line.

I am asking for tips as to what to input

Also, does  the direction(X,Y,Z) mean anything?

      Thanks

      Hi Rahul,

I have written out the output file as shown below and ran for sometime but did not find the results.

Do i need to define macros before writing out the file name?

      Thanks

      Hi Rahul,

Please disregard my previous message. I obtained the results but it is not what i wanted.

I wanted the Force-Time histories on the walls. See below the results i obtained.

They are just single results for each bend. I wanted force with the corresponding time every 100 time step

Look in Report Definitions>Force Report.  You want to send the data to file. In the above you've created a parameter set, that's typically used at the end of the simulation for response surface work etc.

I got this. You are very correct.

      Thanks
