force applied for tensile test simulation

i want to simulate the tensile test on the composite material that i created myself

the speed of the testing is 5mm/min until it break

so as the image shown below, what value shall i key in to achieve 5mm/min?

as i know that time is not relevant to the input

so is it key in the x component “5“?

      or function “5*time“?

      thank you very much

Hi zheyi95, This value would be 5 mm displacement. this would be the total displacement applied for the given time in the Ansys. Regards, Sampat

Hallo Mr Sampat, If you are willing can you help me? I really appreciate your help. I want to carry out a tensile test simulation with AISI 4140 material and compare with eksperiment result, actually I don't know the correct tensile test simulation process. Is there a video that you suggest or a discussion that I can learn from to carry out a tensile test simulation?

For the tensile test, does the Explicit Dynamic option use "Force" or "Displacement"?

      Thank you so much Mr.

        Hi Desi,
You can type “ANSYS Tutorial: Tensile Test using Explicit Dynamics” in youtube and you can follow the tutorial.
please let me know if you have any queries related to this.

        Regards,
        Sampat
