I have previously installed Ansys 2023 R1 for my class last year and the license expired so I uninstalled it and installed 2024 R2. When trying to run a simulation, I get an error saying there was an issue with the flexnet publisher. I figured this may be an issue with some of the old licensing files from the previous version not properly being erased so i installed it onto my laptop instead which has never had ansys and it worked just fine. Is there any solution to this? My next step would be to install windows again to completely wipe my drive and any hidden files that may be lingering from the previous install. Also I recieved 2 different whybad parameters after running the license manager as administrator. Before running it, it showed whybad = -5 and after it shows why bad = -88309.
Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

Hello,
I recommend to try the following:
Uninstall.
Rename the c:\Program files\Ansys Inc directory to Ansys.Old
Rename the %APPDATA%\Ansys\v242 directory to v242.old
Reinstall by right-clicking on setup.exe and choosing more->"run as administrator" -

Hello,
I have had the same problem, but i have unistalled previous ansys versions and deleted the related files from the system (meaning C:\Program Files\Ansys). I had the 2022r2 working on Mechanical APDL then the licence expired, I installed the 2024r1 for FLUENT which worked fine, but then working on FORTE I had that FNP licence error. I uninstalled it and removed the relevant files and reinstalled 2024r2 with the same error appearing even on the FORTE .ftsim tutorials (by the way on 2024r2 FLUENT works fine). Is there a posibility that there are variables in the system or files located somewhere else that must be deleted or renamed, because they conflict with the fromerly installed program? And if so what could i do?
Kind regards, and thanks a lot.Â
