SubscriberHi guys, i'm not very good to use Ansys(Workbench). I'm doing a project for my university in wich i have the necessity to split the cylinder face into 2 faces(coaxials) in a specific distance from the origin. How i can do that? Here a cap about the geometry.

AdministratorCould you please create an XY plane at certain Z distance from your origin? Then, you should be able to use the split face tool using this created plane. nPlease let me know if this helps.nThanks.nKarthiknAugust 18, 2020 at 5:12 pm92BEHEMOT

AdministratorHello,nThere are plenty of YouTube videos around this issue. Please search the following keywords - Ansys Design Modeler Split face and these search results should give you a good place to start from.nThank you.nKarthiknAugust 19, 2020 at 7:54 am92BEHEMOT
SubscriberI have already saw these videos, but the geometry is very different(in those cases there are quadrate or rectangular,or some spherical but the split is different). The similar case is that in wich there is cylindrical geometry, but he splitted the faces in another direction(using edge split) but in my direction(ortogonal from the height) there arent edges. I could create a plane that intersecates the cylinder from the origin(choosing the distance) or a circle coaxial but with a distance from the origin choosed by me. But i don't know how to do these things.nAugust 19, 2020 at 3:15 pmRob
Forum ModeratorLook up DesignModeler plane creation, that'll show you have to get a plane where you want it. Then split with the plane as per the videos Karthik pointed you at. nViewing 5 reply threads- The topic ‘FLUID FLOW(FLUENT) DESIGNMODELER-HOW TO SPLIT FACES’ is closed to new replies.
