SubscriberHello.. I'm working on a CFD simulation involving gas flow within a sealed chamber (inlets on two wall, outlet on one wall).Â
The geometry was built in Solid Edge and includes several internal components such as fans, hoses, and internal walls.
I’ve imported the geometry into ANSYS SpaceClaim and want to extract the internal fluid domain to proceed with meshing in Fluent. However:
I don’t have a solid block representing the internal fluid volume.
When I hover or select, only individual faces highlight.
The Volume Extract tool reports no identified gaps, so the enclosure seems watertight.
Still, I’m unsure whether the fluid region is fully enclosed or if I’m missing something regarding inlet/outlet closures.
I've attached a screenshot of the geometry to illustrate the setup.
My question:
What’s the best approach to extract the fluid volume between all these internal components, including the flow inside the hose and between fan blades? Do I need to manually build a solid volume of the internal air space, or is there a way to automatically generate it in SpaceClaim?Any guidance or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Ansys EmployeeHiÂ
You can use volume extract option available in spaceclaim.Â
I am sharing a video link for your reference.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jp8btI0PCyU&list=PL0lZXwHtV6OlLzn_cN6VNX5kBKKLq35JH&index=5
