Hello,

According to Fluent's user guide, when adding a species source term through the cell zone conditions in Fluent, a mass source term has to be added also.

What happens in the case a mass source term is not added? how does the equations and the solver change? is the simulation incorrect or defined incorreclty?

Hi,

If you don’t provide the mass source term, the mass balance for that species will be incomplete in that zone, leading to an inaccurate representation of the system. This can affect behavior of the species in the simulation.
