Hello ,
I am making a simulation using fluent , of course i run the simulation in parallel on 10 cores machine now the solution time is 2seconds.
also another workstation now is available which has better computational power 20 cores .so in case i reopen the case in this second workstation and initialize the solution using Interpolation values from simulation time 2SÂ Â than run calculation for 1 more second Can i say that i solved the case for 3s ?!Â
Kind regards

Or you read the data file of first run and just continue calculation: both should work but I will prefer reading the whole data instead of interpolation file.

HI Amine,
is it possible to read the whole data file even it was generated for a simulation with 10 cores and my current one is gonne be with 20 cores ?
Â
Kind regards

Yes.

Hello there, I just read a profile into ANSYS FLUENT using read-transient-table in the TUI section. However, when i try to intialize it brings up an error message saying " Get time interpolated value

Have you set the solver as transient?Â

Yes I have. Eventually, I was able to resolve the problem. It seems when you input a profile as a txt file into ansys fluent, the heading of each variable must all be in lower case. When I changed this, the error of "get interpolated values" disappeared. Any thought?

Makes sense, Fluent is Unix based so will be case sensitive.Â

Can I ask you another question? I am simulating flow through a porous medium using ANSYS Fluent. There is only one inlet and no outlet. However, when I view the CFD Post, I realize that the values for mass flow rate are all negative. This is strange to me because the vectors show that the flow is in the positive x direction as I'd set it up. Why are my mass flow rate values negative?

As far as I can see you have not created a New Post in any of the sections I monitor, and there is no record of a New Post in the backend system. Please link, if you've added a comment to an old Post it's very likely that it won't be picked up.Â

My apologies. I just tried again. It was posted in the fluids page
