Hi all,
I have a question regarding the convergence criteria for the PEM fuel cell add-on module. By default, residual checking is disabled when you turn on the model and typically in the literature convergence has to be checked manually by inspecting said residauls and some physical values. My issue is that I have not seen a good explanation as to why residual checking is insufficient for establishing convergence as it is with other steady-state models. So to summarize my question is:
Why is residual checking alone not valid as the convergence criteria for the Fluent PEM fuel cell addon model?

You might want to check this video which details the PEM fuel cell setup process. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O0GEsC-vkZI]
It does have the UDS residual convergence turned on.
