AdministratorHello,
If you are computing the surface integral of the volume fraction - then this monitor is not telling you much.Â
If you are trying to monitor the volume fraction of the fluid, I'd recommend an Area-Weighted Average of the Volume Fraction at a surface (for 3D) or a line (2D) to understand the overall behavior.
Thanks.

SubscriberOh okay, i got it. i have another question related to depth value in reference values. So, i am working on 2d model and when i go to the reference values it shows the depth is 1 m and it affects to the total area of my surface. it generates different result which the geometry itself has the surface area = 0.5 m2 while when the depth is set as 1 m, the total area becomes 100 m2. Can you explain this? and what value for depth need to be set so it will produce the correct result?Â

AdministratorI don't think Depth should have any effect on the area. Could you please deselect all the other boundaries except 'Interior Surface Body' and recompute your area?
Also, could you please share the screenshot of your model 'Scale'?
In Fluent, when solving a 2D problem, the depth is automatically taken as 1 m in the 'Z direction' (which you are not really solving). This, however, should not affect your area calculation as you are only looking at the planar area.
Thank you.

SubscriberHello,Â
So I changed the unit but the result is the same. Okay so the problem is with the surface right? how can i obtain the area of 2d? which surface do i need to choose? Do i need to create a new surface?Â
Thank you..Â
