These inputs are provided by Lumerical. I'm not sure if we share the details of these quantities, this might be proprietary information. As far as I can tell, if you have a non-dispersive dielectric (constant permittivity) then:
- Un = epsilon_r (the relative epsilon of the base material, which is 1 if the base material index is 1)
- Vn = Dn/eps0 = epsilon_r En
These terms get more complicated when the base material is dispersive and the multi-coefficient material model is used.Â

These terms get more complicated when the base material is dispersive and the multi-coefficient material model is used. However, for the purposes of developing your model, you can consider the case where the base material is a simple dielectric.
