The Ansys Innovation Space website recently experienced a database corruption issue. While service has been restored there appears to have been some data loss from November 13. We are still investigating and apologize for any issues our users may have as a result.

Failed to generate surface mesh

I ran into this error when generating surface mesh for our FSAE car

I've already checked the geometry and do all the repair and prepare steps, share topology for it. For fluent, I already did the sizing and pretty sure that I've applied correct sizing to capture everything. I've also read and do everything that this is recommended in this link  https://innovationspace.ansys.com/forum/forums/topic/fluent-meshing-error-3/.

Can anyone help me fix this problem?

Is this a single body or more than 1 bodies?

What file format you are importing?

Posting some images may help to understand issue better.

It has more than 1 body, and I imported the file as a pmdb after prepared it in Ansys discovery. It says the problem is at the sidewing but i don't know why it happened.

All the solid bodies are excluded from the simulation and the naming are correct.

Have you done share topology? Is it successful? Can you post image after share topology?

Why pmdb file? Are you using linux for Fluent Meshing?

Do you want solid + fluid mesh?

I can see you have solids as well as enclosure in the image.

I've done share topology and it was successful.

I did pmdb file because in one of the tutorials for in the ansys channel, it says the pmdb file will be better. I am not using Linux. As for the solid parts, they are excluded from the simulation and only the enclosure will be used in the simulation.

pmdb is required if you are using linux. You can directly import SpaceClaim file in Fluent Meshing. Please try this.

If you are using only single fluid volume to mesh, there is no need for share topology.
