Ansys EmployeeThere are many different options for magnetic loss-thermal coupling between Maxwell and Workbench.
- Maxwell 2D or 3D, Eddy Current or Transient
- ANSYS Workbench Steadystate thermal or ANSYS Workbench Transient thermalÂ
- 1-way or 2-way coupling
Depending on the solvers being used, the settings can be somewhat different. Note for 2-way thermal coupling be sure to:
1) In Maxwell, assign temperature dependent materialsÂ
2) In Maxwell, enable temp dependent under Maxwell 3D > Set Object Temperature > Include Temperature dependent and Enable Feedback
3) In ANSYS Workbench, enable "beta" options in (under Tools > Options > Appearance and scroll down to check box)
