Ansys EmployeePeter has made an excellent video where velocities are transferred (imported) from a structure to an acoustic domain.

Forum ModeratorCan you please try a simpler model with coarser mesh, to check if the methodology works at your end? I am asking this just to rule out hardware limitations.

SubscriberYes sir it works will lesser data. Actually its my fault that I was importing velocity for all frequency points rather I should import for resonance peaks frequency. I was also having issues with using shell element in modal and harmonic response as it will lead to difficulty in importing the normal velocity. I have resolved the issues a bit.
Moreover I would like to ask one question what will be best method to go for far field acoustics. A radiation boundary , A PML region or an infinite element(Absorption boundary condition). Please tell me about this.

Thanks and Regards

Forum ModeratorFor large files, you can try using ASI file with APDL command. You can insert a command object with the "ASIFILE,write" and "ASIFILE,read" command lines in the structural and acoustic models. This will really speed up the velocity mapping. See this link for how the commands work:Â https://ansyshelp.ansys.com/account/secured?returnurl=/Views/Secured/corp/v201/en/ans_acous/acous_adv_unicou.html?q=asi%20file

SubscriberHello baijsingh. I have the exact same problem, but I don't know how to use ANSYS APDL. Could you please show me how you finally solved the problem? I have wasted a lot of days with this problem and can't progress. Thanks.Â
