SubscriberHi,
I am a user of Lumerical DEVICE.
When I want to run the example of "Thin film GaAs solar cell" (https://support.lumerical.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042160334-Thin-film-GaAs-solar-cell) without any changes by myself, It shows errors information as follow.
"The program terminated due to an error: Initialization failed to converge electrostatic potential update.
Error: there was an unknown parallel error. The error code is 9002, the process number is 0"
I wonder if someone has the similar problems OR do this problem is a error for the example itself?
Thanks!
Jason

SubscriberHi,
Thanks for your help.
I use the version of 2018a. Could you help me implement the example in this version?
I think the official example should be compatible for different versions like the other simulation software (like COMSOL) does. In COMSOL example, it lists examples for different versions. It is useful for different users. Here is an example: https://www.comsol.com/model/free-convection-in-a-light-bulb-303
Otherwise, the example should be labeled by the version it is using. Because sometimes it is hard and takes long time for a department to update their software.

Ansys EmployeeUnfortunately, we no longer support 2018 version which is too old. We have added some new features and the example file was tested using the new version. I believe that this software has major upgrade on its meshing algorithm in recent versions. So please update to the newest version.
